Why take professional family photos?

Do you have any updated family photos?!  And I’m not talking about selfies…  I’m talking about the last time you had a professional photographer take some photos of you and your family!  My Day1SinceSem1 reached out to me to take some photos of her family.  Meet the Esparza’s!  I was so excited yet so nervous to take their pictures!  The pressure was defiantly on to make sure I did an awesome job since she trusted me so much to take them.  I am so pleased at the results of their photoshoot!

There session really made me think about the last time me and my family had photos taken.  I use to aim at taking family pictures every year but for me, it has been 3 years!  Preparing for a photoshoot for my family takes a lot of work.  I want to schedule and plan hair and makeup, decided on outfits, and location.  School, work and life has been some of the main excuses I had on why my family has not taken recent photos.  And honestly, I am going to make every effort to ensure that before the end of this year (hopefully before Christmas) me and my family WILL TAKE SOME PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS!

Here are a few reasons why I feel it is important to take professional family photos…

1. Quality
   1. Although selfies are free, there is one person who will have to angle the camera phone a certain way to try to fit everyone into the frame.  But that same person will be in an awkward pose with their hand up while everyone else may or may not be properly posed or even worst, someone is cut out of the picture because they couldn’t fit in.  And sure… you can set your camera up on a timer to snap after a few seconds when everyone is ready, but how many times will you have to do that when you look at the image, when you can have a professional photographer directing you to proper posing, exposure, framing etc. to do it right the first time!
2. Your Families Future Family
   1. Your family will have their family and their family will have more families.  Wouldn’t it be nice when the families come together to grab your photo book and sit and share the memories with everyone of that time your family took pictures together?
3. Highlight Growth
   1. In as little as a few months, your family can change and grow some much!  I always hear… “DAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGGGGGG she got BBBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGG” lol.  Taking family pictures now will allow me the ability see a trend of their growth.  Plus, I like to brag a little and show of my family by hanging pictures around the house or in my office at work.
4. Life Happens
   1. A family can change without any notice.  I don’t want to wish I had an opportunity to capture our life together when I had all the opportunity before someone passes away
